Audacious Corruption, Audacious Grace
People will tolerate a lot of things, but corruption is something that cuts to the core of all of us, especially when we place so much in the hands of elected officials…
Our trust. Our money. Our well-being. Our future.
Up until 2009, Rod Blagojevich was the governor of Illinois, until he was impeached, found guilty, and removed from office on corruption charges. His boldest crimes consisted of “pay-to-play” schemes, the most audacious of which involved attempting to sell the Senate seat vacated by President Barack Obama after his election.
“Blago” has been publicly shamed, banned from public office, and will likely be disbarred. According to some rules, his story is finished. He might as well disappear while the disappearin’ is good.
But what if there’s a second set of rules? A second act, yet to be written? What if audacious corruption can one day lead way to audacious redemption? Audacious triumph?
We believe it can. How? With audacious grace.
