4 POWERFUL LESSONS MARTIN LUTHER KING JR HAS TAUGHT US

Today we honor a man who changed the world by with the words "I have a dream" and "Free at last."

We continue to remember his words as they still echo that all of us are children of God.

Here are just some of  Martin Luther King Jr.'s powerful lessons.

1.) Stand up for what you believe in!

“There comes a time when silence is betrayal.

2.) Consider others before yourself. 

“Life’s most persistent and urgent question is, ‘What are you doing for others?’”

3.) Give your best effort in everything you do. You owe it to yourself and the world! 

“If a man is called to be a street sweeper, he should sweep streets even as a Michaelangelo painted, or Beethoven composed music or Shakespeare wrote poetry. He should sweep streets so well that all the hosts of heaven and earth will pause to say, 'Here lived a great street sweeper who did his job well.'”

4.) Love is the most powerful force. 

“Darkness cannot drive out darkness: only light can do that. Hate cannot drive out hate: only love can do that.”
