I consider it a privilege to work with individuals who are rebuilding their lives after a significant failure in leadership.

Often when I'm doing this I'm asked this question by others:

Will they make it? How do you know they won't fall again?

I don't have crystal ball but in my experience, if had to pick one character trait that is the best indicator that someone is going to come back strong it would be this....SIMPLE HUMILITY.

When a leader fully embraces his brokeness, openly talks about his failure with others, and consistently lives in a posture of humility, I can almost guarantee 100% success.

But when a leader tips into arrogance, self reliance, and an overall tone of they got it all figured out, I become worried.

Humility drives second chances. Arrogance will leave a cloud of questions.
