Perfect Love for Imperfect People

It's that time again, Valentine's Day, when many  men rush around to find the most romantic flowers, tastiest chocolates, and fluffiest teddy bears in sight to show their affection and appreciation for their loved ones.

It's that time when we all crave to hear those three little words, "I love you." And if we don't, we end up comparing ourselves to the kid that gets picked last in kickball, rejected, unwanted, and useless.

We can tend to base our worth on the number of social media likes, follows, retweets, pins, and ultimately, how others treat us.
But how many times have our expectations lead to being let down and feeling disappointed?
How many times have we felt like we're not enough?
Let's face it, there is no such thing in life as a perfect relationship.
No matter the time, money, status, or effort we put into relationships, we all have fallen short of perfectly loving someone. Whether we forget a significant date such as an anniversary, lose trust in someone, or become quick to criticize, relationships fail us.

While there might not be such a thing as a perfect relationship, there is such thing as perfect love.

It’s a love that never fails, a love that never gives up, a love that pursues endlessly, and most importantly, a love that cannot be measured. It’s the love of our Savior. The love God has for us is beyond numbers and can't be tallied. It is immeasurably more than we can ever imagine. It is not dependent on how we treat Him or how many times we fall short. God's love for us keeps no record, because in Jesus, our debts have been marked "paid in full."
So this Valentine's Day, if you feel alone, unworthy, or unloved in any way, remember that there is a man who decided He would rather die than stop loving you.
